Shaver Lake

Shaver Lake is a small mountain resort community located on the west slope of the Southern Sierra Nevada mountains in central California. Shaver Lake is known for its abundant year 'round outdoor recreation and its rich history. Our community is the favorite recreation and vacation area for central California. Our climate is mild. While we get plenty of snow in the winter, our average temperature in the summer is a perfect 84 degrees. Little has changed over the last 40 years. The business district looks much like it did long ago; quaint with no hint of stress anywhere. One big change, though difficult to detect while driving through town, is the growth in residential development. Several hundred lots are in various stages of development and are selling at a brisk pace. More and more retirees are choosing to settle in Shaver Lake. The majority of the people you will see on an average weekend are visiting their second homes or renting one. They come to relax and enjoy the clean air and pure water, while taking in the spectacular landscape surrounding them. The Shaver Lake/ Huntington Lake area is truly an undiscovered gem in the woods.
